Midwest Wolf Stewards Conference

The Midwest Wolf Stewards has met annually since the late 1980s to discuss wolf conservation in the Great Lakes region. The meeting includes professionals from state and federal agencies, the province of Ontario, Non-governmental Organizations, universities, tribes, and others interested in the management of wolves in the Great Lakes region.
The meeting site is rotated among locations in Minnesota, Michigan, Canada and Wisconsin. The 2014 conference was held in Saulte Ste Marie, Ontario and was hosted by Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Trent University. The 2015 conference was held in Ashland, Wisconsin hosted by the Timber Wolf Alliance. The 2016 conference will be held in Minnesota.
Topics of discussion included current wolf populations, wolf depredations, the wolf hunts, wolf taxonomy, the politics of wolf management and local research projects.
