Mexican wolf M1197, Luis (also called Louie), was born in 2010 at the Endangered Wolf Center in Eureka, Missouri. ![]()
He and 3 brothers moved to the Albuquerque Biological Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2012, where they remained together for several years.![]()
Luis moved to Southwest Wildlife in December 2018 and was paired with female Mexican gray wolf F1034 Penny. ![]()
Although Luis is a shy wolf around people, he and Penny are quite happy together in an off-exhibit enclosure at the sanctuary![]()

Meet Jack M1593 -Arizona![]()

Mexican wolf Jack, M1593, joined our wild family in July of 2019. Jack was born at the California Wolf Center in Julian, California in 2017. ![]()
When he was ready to leave his family unit, he was transferred to Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center in Divide, Colorado, and shortly after that arrived at Southwest Wildlife. ![]()
Jack currently is paired with F1740, Lupa, a young female wolf.![]()
