ACTION POST by the Center for Biological Diversity: Wyoming Prepares for Grizzly Bear Hunts
Less than a year after the Trump administration removed Endangered Species Act protection from Yellowstone's grizzlies, the state of Wyoming now wants a hunt.
Wyoming officials want to allow hunters to kill 24 grizzly bears this fall, including up to 14 females. Bears that step over park boundary lines could be shot by trophy hunters. Killing just one or two could definitely impact the local grizzly bear population. Killing 14 could have far-reaching consequences. We can't let this happen.
Tell Wyoming officials that you oppose this irresponsible hunting proposal.
Wyoming's reckless hunt ignores the fact that grizzly bears remain isolated in Yellowstone and are recovered in less than 4 percent of their population across the West. It took more than 40 years to bring these magnificent bears back from the brink of extinction. They deserve more than death at the hands of trophy hunters who just want to hang a head on their wall.
Join the call to protect Yellowstone's grizzly bears and stop this reckless hunt.
