Happy 16th Birthday Bailey!This year's first birthday shoutout goes to our oldest wolf, Bailey (M1139), who is turning an extraordinary 16 years old! Bailey was born on April 22, 2008 at the Wolf Conservation Center in New York. He was subsequently transferred to the California Wolf Center in 2015 to be paired with our female Mexican Gray Wolf, Joy. Bailey and Joy went on to raise four healthy litters of pups at the California Wolf Center’s conservation facility. As the father of 27 pups, this doting dad has been instrumental in helping his critically endangered subspecies recover and thrive. As the years have passed, Bailey has started embodying the "gray" in Mexican gray wolf, but he is still a great father who has diligently protected and guided his pack.
